Glory to Urania, whose contemplation beholds the kinship of the heavens, and glory to Zeus, who establishes all things in divine measure. The courses of the stars bear the splendour of their order; the mind ascends towards the unity that shines through their manifold light. Hail, heavenly Muse. Hail, Zeus, sovereign source of wisdom, harmony and the immortal concord of the whole.
After you are done with this, you can meditate on Urania's Sigil in the Temple of Zeus. Let yourself be immersed and to receive energy from Urania.
It's important to meditate on yourself after the Ritual calmly for a few minutes.
The Pleiades and the Bear
The third verse recalls Hesiod’s connection between the rising Pleiades and harvest. The fourth recalls the Bear watched by Odysseus during his voyage. These are ancient examples of attention to the sky serving the work of human life. The poem places them within Urania’s later astronomical sphere. Hesiod, Works and Days 383–387 Homer, Odyssey 5.273–277
The heavens and intelligible order
The Golden Book calls Urania to lift contemplation from the manifold heavens towards their intelligible order. The relations within the sacred text become an image of the kinship of all things, each beheld in its proper place. Her globe and compasses honour the divine Measure through which the many are understood together. The Golden Book of Zeus, Invocation of the Muses · Urania
Reading the Shenu
The globe, compasses and suspended plumb join the round heaven to the act of measuring. The crescent and surrounding stars give the celestial field its variety. The triangular frame brings the sight back to the centre. The globe is a traditional attribute; this combined geometry belongs to the present Shenu. The sacred letters
Ο · Α · Κ unites Οὐρανία, ἄστρον and κόσμος: Urania, the star and the ordered heavens. Her letters honour the divine Measure that joins celestial courses into one intelligible harmony. Temple of Zeus: sacred-letter recitation
