Liturgical Terms of Zevism
Liturgical Purifications
The Zevist is a Theophoros in the making: one who, through sustained practice, devotion and the cultivation of the soul, comes to carry the living presence of the Gods within, and to bear it forth into the world through thought, word and deed. The ten Cures mark the stages of that ascent, from the God-Bearer to Ma’at, the Divine Order toward which every cure tends. Opposite them stand the ten Pathologies, the forms that Izfet takes in the individual, in religion and in civilisation: disorder, untruth, injustice and the dissolution of all that the Divine has ordered. A Zevist is expected to recognise each of them, to locate them within their own mind and conduct as readily as in the world around them, and to stand against them wherever they are found, for Ma’at is not inherited; it is upheld through vigilance, discernment and right action.

The Pathologies
Each Holy Prayer by Osiris is used to banish its Pathology: from one’s own mind and conduct, and from the world.
Ma’at
The Cures
Each Holy Prayer by Osiris purifies the one who prays it and imparts its Cure as a living capacity.
Each Cure answers the Pathology of its number: I answers I, through to IX.
