Adonis Prayer

ΑΔΩΝΙΣ, God of Beauty, Power, and Splendour,
You are invoked by the Divine Assembly and Order of the Temple of Zeus.
Aphrodite has loved you, and the Gods have venerated you.
In respect and providence, answer our honorable invocation.
By the Name of Zeus and the Divine Aphrodite, we invoke you in reverence.
ΑΔΩΝΙΣ, TAMMUZ, DUMUZID, SIPAD, you are adored and invoked.

Born of hidden fate and forbidden lineage,
From the depths of Myrrha's sorrow you arose into light,
Beloved of ΑΦΡΟΔΙΤΗ, chosen among mortals and Gods,
Your beauty became a bridge between earth and Olympus.

Slain by the wild force of the boar and the jealous currents of fate,
You descended into shadow yet were not lost to oblivion,
For through love you returned in cycles of death and rebirth,
Eternal ΑΔΩΝΙΣ, living rhythm of life, decay, and divine renewal.

Many are your Powers, and they have been venerated by humanity.
When people seek beauty, refuge, and peace, they go to you.
We come to you to be blessed, for we are the People of the Gods,
The Chosen People of Zeus and the Four Crowns that preside over the Cosmic flow.

For you have looked upon us and said:
"These people, the Initiates of the Gods, require my blessing and guidance.
As I have defeated death, they too must strive to return from the Underworld.
The eternal flower of my wisdom and support shall be with them, now and forever."

So we, O ΑΔΩΝΙΣ, venerate your Name, venerate your Powers, venerate your Attributes.
